Hospital

Soothing music is known to reduce blood pressure as well as lower pulse rate.  Harp music provides a gentle backdrop to promote healing and recovery. Denise has played in infusion centers as well as neo-natal and intensive care units with this goal in mind.

Hospice

 In hospice care, harp music creates a comforting environment for calm relaxation.  Denise currently plays weekly in a hospice center and plays regulartly at many Senior Homes in the Twin Cities area.

She has over ten years experience playing in hospital, hospice, alzheimers and senior settings.

Denise hosted a seminar at Woodwinds Hospital on harp music and healing which included physicians as well as world class musicians.  She has had extensive training in music therapy as well as music thanatology.

 Reverie Harp

Besides playing her own harp, Denise also brings a Reverie harp for patients.  It is a small hand held harp which the patient can play and feel the vibrations as they strum the strings.  This interaction with the harp engages the creative process in the patient which encourages their own well-being.



Denise is dedicated to her work in Music Therapy.
